1. Wash your weighted blanket as often as necessary, but as little as possible.
The more you wash your blanket, the faster it will deteriorate. Use a flat sheet under your blanket so you can wash your blanket as little as 4 times per year.
2. Keep your detergents simple.
If you want your blanket to smell fresh, try spritzing it with an essential oil and water mixture instead of using scented fabric softeners and detergents. After prolonged used, harsh scenting agents can deteriorate fabrics and cause damage to your health, as well!
3. Avoid heat.
