How heavy should my blanket be?
The Koala therapeutic weighted blanket designed to be approximately 7-13% of your body weight.
How to choose the right size?
The Koala Blanket comes with 2 size options: 48*78 inches and 60*80 inches. Both sizes have an option of 6.8kg or 9kg.
Is the blanket machine washable?
The cover is machine washable and also can be dry cleaned. Remove the cover before washing, and wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, hang your cover to dry. Do not use bleach.
We recommend only washing the weighted insert by hand in cold water. Do not tumble dry, do not dry clean. Do not soak or bleach.
Please note: Other brands state that you can wash the weighted insert but doing this can break your washing machine due to the weight.
How long will it take to get used to the Koala Blanket?
This is variable. Some people love their blanket straight away and feel the therapeutic benefits immediately. For others, getting used to a weighted blanket takes a few days but never more than a few weeks.
How long it will take you to get used to it depends on you. It’s important to remember a weighted blanket is heavier than a regular duvet or blanket, so there’s bound to be a small bedding in period (please excuse the pun).
How does the Koala Blanket stay cool?
You can use your Koala Blanket all year round because it is reversible with two different fabric outer layers.
For cooler nights, you use the Ultra Soft Mink Side, and for warmer nights, you use the Silky Bamboo side. These fabrics were chosen after extensive testing. They are lovely to touch and supremely comfortable.
Another reason the Koala Blanket is good for winter and summer is because of what goes in it. The ‘weight’ is provided by very small glass beads, which do not restrict heat loss and move around silently as you do. The unique pattern of the Koala Blanket keeps these beads evenly spread out for optimal comfort.
If you use your Koala Blanket in winter, use the loop and tie system to fasten it to your duvet. If you are using your blanket in summer, you can use the Koala Blanket with just a bed sheet or on its own. Whatever works for you.

I bit the bullet after 3 years of little sleep, restless leg syndrome and general stress and anxiety related wakefulness. It's been 4 nights so far and 4 full nights sleep. Even with my weak bladder trips to the bathroom, I fall straight back to sleep. How? Why? What? Who cares! It's amazing, incredible, fantastic and awesome x
My sleep has greatly improve since sleeping in the Koala blanket. The weight of the blanket prevents me from tossing and turning at night which has led to a more restorative sleep.
I’m pleased with this blanket. Ordered the 9kg one first but it was too heavy so will return and purchased the 6.8kg one. I will need to pay for the return but customer service has been good. The blanket feels nice and reassuring (you get used to it quickly) and looks nice on the bed too as it’s good quality and nice and soft. The cats like it too.
These koalas know what they are doing! The blanket is great quality, nice neutral colour which seems to fit in anywhere, love the 2 different textures on each side. First of all I went for the 6.8kg blanket which didn't feel as heavy as I wanted (I'm 160cm tall and 65kg for reference). I wished I had got the heaviest 9kg one. Got in touch and asked if there was anything they would do, as I'd tried it, I was not expecting to be able to exchange without losing £! The koalas were great. I had to pay postage to get the first one back to them, but they sent me the 9kg one immediately, at no extra cost! It arrived pretty fast and feels like the perfect weight! Thank you for making a great product and offering unusually brilliant service to boot.

This blanket is just the best ever, had this for 2 weeks now, I get very hot during the night usually so been using the silky side, so cozy makes me not want to get up in the morning, I got my boyfriend to order one too, so he doesn’t pinch mine he has the 9kg I’ve tried his out kind of wish I went for the heavier one now! But I’m sure I will sneakily swap at some point, my little dog loves this too as she sleeps on the bed! 5*****

I am so amazed at how well I sleep now with this blanket. I literally don’t want to get up. I can get cost on my back or side am sleeping through the night. I don’t suffer with anxiety but sometimes have restless legs and the weight really helps relief those sensations. I love it and can’t say enough good things about the blanket. There’s no bunching up of the blanket, it is evenly distributed in weight. I recommend anyone that likes to feel secure and cosy in bed to get, this saves me piling up numerous pillows around me and on myself. Happy sleeping!

Great blanket with a good weight. Particularly liked that you could take the cover off. Would like to see replacement covers to purchase. A really good night sleep, I would reccomend.
